If you’ve been waiting for the show’s October 2nd launch, you’re in luck since the first episode has already been released on AMC+.
Interview with the Vampire is a 1976 vampire and gothic horror book by American novelist Anne Rice. It was her first book. The novel, based on a short tale Rice wrote circa 1968, follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he relates the narrative of his life to a reporter.
Rice wrote the story soon after the loss of her young daughter Michelle, who inspired the child vampire character Claudia. Despite receiving mixed reviews at first, the novel was followed by a series of immensely popular sequels known as The Vampire Chronicles. A film adaption starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was produced in 1994, and a television series will premiere in 2022.
