What To Watch: Evil A Supernatural Drama Television Series

evil tv series

Evil is a CBS supernatural drama television series that debuted on September 26, 2019 developed by Robert and Michelle King. It’s one of the bravest television programmes I’ve seen in a while, meaningfully fusing a well-established horror genre with important existential issues.

As they look into the church’s backlog of inexplicable mysteries, including purported miracles, demonic possessions, and other strange occurrences, sceptic psychologist Kristen Bouchard is joined by David Acosta, a Catholic priest-in-training, and a blue collar contractor. Their responsibility is to determine if there is a rational explanation or whether something genuinely supernatural is at play while investigating the roots of evil along the line where science and religion diverge.

Evil makes it quite evident that people will always find a way to communicate with one another in order to sow division, foster hatred, and, if they so want, enlist others in their cause. Evil also considers what God and the Devil may look like and where they could be found in addition to questioning what they might look like in present day.

Similar to The X-Files TV series, most of Evil’s episodes have ambiguous endings; while many of the weird occurrences the team sees have explicable causes, there are generally a few unanswered concerns that remain.

Critics have praised Evil for its performances, characters, narrative, director, and cinematography. The show’s second season was ordered in October 2019. It was announced in May 2021 that the show will switch from CBS to Paramount+. On June 20, 2021, the second season made its debut. The show received a third season renewal in July 2021, which debuted on June 12, 2022, and ended on August 14, 2022. The show got picked up for a fourth season in July 2022.
